I've never done a blog. Seems like I would have jumped on it right away, I like pictures of myself and explaining in detail what each picture is...but I never had the time and probably more likely, I hate that feeling when you know that the other person is bored while you talk. But here I am! Doing something with my life that my family (and my small, yet meaningful group of friends) doesn't get to witness or be involved with. So here is my life currently..promise that if you get bored you will stop.

Virginia Bound

On the drive over, We stopped in St. Louis to eat lunch under the arch and get some museum time. When we were walking back to the car an unexpected rainstorm rolled in. (i'm drenched in the second pic) The streets were flooded instantly and I swear the water washed off all driving blues. So special thanks to St. Louis.

Air Show

We get one day off a week, Sunday. So the first Sunday we had, we went to the airshow. It was fun and loud. Mainly I can't believe how many people are military here. I swear 7/8 of the houses I installed were. Even got to do some therapy sessions for the women with 3 children with their husbands gone on duty.
I should explain the pictures? The top one is Me...harmony (riley's sister)....Kalob (harmony's husband)...and Clint (riley's brother). The rest are obvious.. me and that dude that i love.

Yorktown

I love the humidity, the fireflies, crickets, and honeysuckle.




Yorktown. Here comes history. It was awe-inspiring. The air at the battlefield felt thicker, you could feel something significant around you. (at least that's how I felt). It was beautiful and I'm so glad we got a tour guide to paint the picture and give extra yummy tidbits.

Williamsburg

Williamsburg was super interactive. Fun things to make you feel like you are back in time. We bought Ginger ale and Rootbeer and they were both made with the pure ingredients that used to be made with. Here is riley being punished for is drunkenness on rootbeer.
The homes and buildings were all done to be exactly like they used to be, many of the things were the original.
The workers were all dressed up and in character. They even put on a show in the middle of the street and outlined the history with their lil reenactment.
It was extremely hot. I stopped to let my feet dangle in the water to cool down and to hope that Riley would take a picture of how cute I looked. Good work Riley.
They had lots of shops. So the boys tired on hats while I looked at the fans. I like that his hair is perfect for the time period.

The fan I couldn't resist buying....I waited the WHOLE day then went back and finally got it. No buyers remorse.

Washington DC (Trip One)

We started with the Smithsonian Museums. They were all incredible. I kept saying...wait, so this is the real one? ...not like a replica? this is it...for real?

The first one we visited was the Art one. They let you walk right up to the paintings. You could see every brush stroke and so many of the pieces were gigantic. They had it sectioned off by area, such as French, Latin, British etc. From the picture you can see a little bit of the dept and the interconnectedness of each room. This place was Huge. They also had bajillion year old sculptures everywhere...no ropes. Beautiful gardens in each wing that people sat and read in. This was my favorite one by far. Unreal.

The white house! Later on in the day they shut down a road that Riley and I were walking by, shortly after about 7 cop cars were escorting 5 blacked out suburbans. Hello Barack.

This is in the Museum of Natural History. In our opinion the coolest part was seeing every possible animals skeleton.

This is what I look like as a Homo floresiensis. aka early human. Again done at the natural history museum.

This is at the Washington Monument. Tickets to go in side and to the top are first come first serve at 8 am. When we visited D.C. for the second time, a lady randomly gave Riley a ticket to go. He had be dying to go so it was perfect.

Lincoln. The Lincoln Memorial was SO much cooler than I imagined. The feeling surrounding it was reverence and Lincoln was so crazy huge and beautiful. I really can't begin to describe how cool it was, but maybe if anyone else has gone you can back me up? Right above Lincoln's head is "In this Temple as in the Hearts of the people for whom he saved the Union the memory of Abraham Lincoln is Enshrined Forever." Riley pointed out that if we all died out and were being studied by others, they would defiantly think that Lincoln was some sort of God due to that Memorial.

Washington DC (Trip Two)

Science Museum!!!! or maybe it was just called air and space museum? anywho...this is me in front of real space junk. Riley was going nuts cause he loves space and I kept repeating conspiracy theories to get on his nerves.

This D.C. around we went as a group. We're just hanging out like national mall rats.

A Little of Day to Day

After work sometimes everyone will get together and eat, play games, or watch a movie. This is me and Jeff in my apartment playing mastermind.


Many of the houses we go in have pictures like above....so naturally we took pictures. I like that at the last supper some look like gangsters.
First day at the beach...and we have hardly gone since. shame. But in my defense, the news keeps reporting that beaches are shut down due to high levels of fecal matter.
